All saved email is gone !!

I use W2k and OE 6 for a long time now. Didn't upgrade nor
changed any configs, but Jul 5th all my saved emails prior
to that date just disappeared.
I was answering to my mail when that happened, but
received no warning - I went into a personnal folder to
retrieve an older msg, and they had just all gone, in ALL
the folders.
Can't figure out what happened! (also, I've got all the
Norton package, legal, registered and daily updated - no
warnings either)
Any help ?
