All text in a column comes out in ALL CAPS

I'm using word 2003.

I don't know how this happened, but whenever I type something in a
column I've created, the text is in ALL CAPS, even when the caps lock
button is on/off and when the shift button is being pressed or not
pressed. The only way I can get text into lower case is by typing it
out and then changing the case manually in the format menu.

What did I do to make this happen and how can I fix it? Thanks!

You may have inadvertently selected All Caps on the font menu. Try
this: Highlight all of the text that is showing as all caps and then
right-click on it and select Font. Then deselect the All Caps option.
