all Word 2000 docs have formatting type text at page bottom??

All of my saved doc files now have listings of what looks like formating
information at the bottom of the main body ...how do I get ride of this?

In the File > Open dialog, change the "Files of type" dropdown from
"Recover text from any file" to "Word documents" or "All files".

I hope you didn't save any documents while they were opened like that.
If you did, you lost all their formatting.
