Allocation of resource capacity.

Project is based on 24hr clock for all tasks and resources. I have a machine
resource that has a capacity of 1,000 units per hour. As I assign this
resource to tasks, and indicate how many units would be consumed by the task,
is there any way to know when I reach machine capacity?
Will project consider the machine capacity constraint when calculating task
times?

How would you do that? Project has no filed for that.
You assign a % of the capacity of the resource to a task OR a work in hours.

Yes, capacity expressed as % of total capacity per time unit but please
forget about production units

Project does not automatically consider capacity (not even for human
resources) to calculate durations. It considers the part of the capcity you
have assigned to the task (agreed, that can be 100% of the capacity)

Hope this helps,
