AllowEdit on a subform

Hello!

What are the effects of changing (by code or by design view), the property
AllowEdit of a main form on its subforms..?

I noticed that when I set (in the design view) the property AllowEdit to
False, the subforms are also set to False automatically. However, when I
reset the property AllowEdit to True of the main form, the subforms won't be
set to False automatically !?!

Thanks for any valid explanation.
