$ALMAPP

Hi,

I am desperate for someone's kind assistance.

Whenever I open my Microsoft Word (2002) or my Microsoft
Outlook (using windows xp), I get similar Microsoft Word
errors.

A Word error appears with the title FILE CONVERSION-
~$ALMAPP and asks me to 'select the encoding that makes
your document readable'. It gives the default windows
options or other languages. No matter what I choose, the
next error states "the add-in template not valid
(c:\program files\...\~$ALMAPP.DOT)".

I cannot launch some programs that use Word unless I have
Word already open. The programs both will work after
clicking OK on the errors, but the errors always appear.

Advice, suggestions? please email me at bellsouthspam
(removethis)@bellsouth.net

Thank you!

This is the "owner file" for PALMAPP.DOT, which has probably been deleted.
Go to Word's Startup folder and remove the ~$ALMAPP.DOT file.
