alphabetical order on open

I am using Office XP. When I am in excel, I use the file
open to get to my files. Just recently, the list is not
sorted alphabetically. How do I fix?

Click on the view-style dropdown and choose "Details". Click on the
filename column to sort by it. This setting is saved.
