"Already booked for the specified time" message when scheduling meetings

Hi guys,

I've just discovered (after a few days of furious Google-searching) the text
of the message that *used* to display for us when we attempted to
double-book a meeting room, but stopped showing last week:

"(Name of resource) is already booked for the specified time. You must use
another time or find another resource."

What makes this message show? Right now, our users don't get warned when
they click "Send" on a meeting request, and subsequently the room declines
the meeting *after* the invitations have been sent to users.

What can I do to make this warning show again when the user clicks Send?

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Milly,

Exchange 2007 & Outlook 2007. No add-ins installed.

I'm almost certain that this has something to do with the fact that since
some time last week the "Resource Scheduling..." button (under
Tools|Options -> Calendar Options) no longer works. It throws up an
"operation failed" error. I wanted to run Outlook using a profile set up for
one of our meeting rooms to check that its auto-accept options were still
right, but that dialog won't show. I've had to use webmail to check the
settings. I've tried a "repair" install of Outlook on my PC with no luck,
but I'm thinking it might be something on the server since it's the same on
every user's PC.

Thanks,
Matt

I don't think its outlook doing it - someone in the exchange server groups
might know if an exchange patch caused it.
