Already downloaded sp1, sp3. do i need to install 1a?

I have previously downloaded Microsoft Office SP 1 and SP 3, Do I need to
download Microsoft Office SP 1a? If I do will I have to reinstall SP 3
again? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have Microsoft XP operating system on a Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop.

You did not say which version of Office your want to update. Guessing that
you are referring to Office 2000, SP 1 and SP 1a have the same content. If
you have successfully installed SP 1, you do not need SP 1a. SP 1a modifies
the installer to correct problems for those who could not successfully
install SP 1.

I am in a similar position to bettakeys5. I have Office 2000 SP-3. I'm not
sure whether I installed SP-1 or SP-1a (it was in 2005), but I went on to
install SP-3. Trouble is everytime I run Office Update, it wants me to
re-install SP-1a and all the other items on the list. I cant seem to install
any of the other updates without re-installing SP-1a!! Does anyone know why
OfficeUpdate doesn't recongnise I have already installed these
