Alt-F11

From Word screen, Alt-F11 (or Tools macros etc) terminates Word with the
"Word has encountered a problem ..."
I am uninstalling - reinstalling Office (because Excel gives same fault)
I recall a Post giving instructions how to COMPLETELY uninstall office or
word, there was another microsoft provided utility to run which would erase
all traces of an installation, thus allowing a clean install.

Does anyone have details of this?

TIA

Hi Ian

It does sound like your VBA installation is messed up.

The utility you're looking for is "eraser". There's a specific version for
Office 97 at http://support.microsoft.com/?id=176823 and one for Office 2000
at http://support.microsoft.com/?id=239938. Neither of these will run if
your operating system is Windows XP.

As far as I know, the utility was never released for Office XP or Office
2003; I read a post that claimed the uninstaller for those versions was
thorough enough without it.
