Alt+Num Keys in Char Map

At first,i used to type special char of foreign Language
using Alt+Num Keys.But sometime i can't use these
combination.I don't know why.Anybody Help me.

Perhaps because you don't have NumLock on? For some other ways to insert

Thanks for your reply.I'm sure as NumLock is on.As i'm
using Asian Font i need to insert many special char very
often.Using Symbol dialog in sometime is convenient for MS
Word.At first i can use Alt + Num keys to insert Char and
next time when i boot machine even in Character map
Alt+keys are lost.And I used also adobe Pagemake 7 and
there only used Alt+Numkeys to insert asian characters.When
Alt keys combinations are lost in Character map,inserted
asian characters in old files are also lost.I don't
understand why like that change.Anybody know how to solve
this problem.
