alt-tab and taskbar preview missing for multiple windows

When I have multiple excel 2007 or powerpoint 2007 windows open (in the same
instance of excel or powerpoint), then the taskbar preview and alt-tab
preview doesn't work. I am using office 2007 and vista.

In Word, it seems to work because each new document opens in a different
instance of Word. I know that I can keep all excel or ppt windows in one
instance, but I like to show each window in the taskbar. This seems to break
the taskbar previews and alt-tab previews. Any ideas?

In short, you can't. It's not that it's "broken" it simply doesn't work that
way. Alt+Tab cycles between tasks on the taskbar. If you aren't using a
Single Document Interface (SDI) for Excel and PowerPoint then you can't take
advantage of the preview functionality.
