Alter a chart embedded in Word?

Hello,

I'm wondering if it is possible to manipulate a chart embedded within
a word document by using a combo-box of items to filter the
information displayed in the chart?

If I had a worksheet that displayed a list of students marks and then
embedded a chart displaying the whole data within word. Is it possible
for me to display the individual students chart via a combo-box in
Word?

TIA,

Martin.

It would probably be possible, yes. The tricky part would be having both
the table and the chart display, and both be embedded. A single object
can't display more than one "page". And you can get into real problems
if you try to link two embedded OLE objects to each other.

It would probably be more stable to have the chart linked to a data
table within its own OLE object, and use VBA to update that table from
the other OLE table. That's also how you'd fill the dropdown list.
