Alter text displayed in the preview pane

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how I can programatically change the text displayed
in the preview pane when a particular message is selected? I tried to
change the text contained in the item body but the preview pane still
displays the original text.

Because Outlook does some caching, the preview pane text may not change until the user selects another message, then returns to the one whose text you want to control.
