Got a column that is populated by a call to a proprietary function
that only delivers data if the sheet is opened on a certain PC. (the
"Bloomberg API" thing....).
What I've been doing is opening up the sheet on a Bloomberg machine,
letting the column populate; then selecting the whole column, hitting
Ctl+C to get into the copy buffer, selecting another column I set
aside for the purpose, and doing an Edit | Paste Special with just
Value.
Works fine for me.
But I'd like to be able to turn something like this over to somebody
who doesn't have to know anything except to open the sheet up on a
Bloomberg PC and then close it - saving the changes.
Can I concoct some sort of "IF" statement so that the receiving column
gets populated with the BB lookup column's values - but only when BB
has returned something..... leaving the current value intact if/when
the sheet is opened on a non-BB machine and returns "#NAME?" in all
the rows of that lookup column?
