Alternative to FP2003 Forms

Hello,

Now that FP Server Extensions will not be supported I am wondering if anyone
has a good submit for FP forms?

I love the way I can customize the form and have a confirmation page.

I want to still do this if possible.

I also would like to leave any forms I have created online just the way they
are and maybe find another way to process them. Is this possible?

As long as the web host has them installed and configured, there is no reason not to use the FP Form
Handler.

However switching to a custom written form handler is too your advantage as you can then hide the
email (new one) from email harvesting spam bots. Now the language you will have to write the custom
form handler in will depend on what is supported by your web host and your willingness to learn the
script language. You will be able to continue to use the forms that you designed in FP, with a few
small modification and limitations.

I was just posting over on the Expressions Web forum and was told that FP
Server Extensions were not being supported anymore so web hosts may take them
down.

I would rather keep using FP forms as they do what I want and look the way I
want.

I am trying to plan ahead for the day when my web host might remove the
extensions.

One of my hosts is GoDaddy and they seemed to indicate that they might be
removing them. Maybe I am wrong.

I don't have time to develop anything and I am not much of a code person
(other than html) so I would need a program that would walk me through
creating the form and configuring it.

Thank you,

You will find a few alternatives out there. For example, I gave an example
for users that are able to use the JMail component on a blog. I also have
seen a few for .NET as well. And most hosting companies will provide a
simple contact script on their support pages

I know I probably should be familiar with what Godaddy offers, but I am not.
If you find that you are on a Windows server and they support JMail, you
might check out

The support should not really be the reason you "upgrade" - it should be
more - i.e. protecting your email address from spammers for one. And maybe a
bit more customization for another.

GoDaddy, should removed them, unless they are going to learn how to configure and support them for
their users.

If your web host remove them, then you will have to learn to write the custom script (or hire
someone to write the script) to process your forms based on whatever scripting language is supported
by your web host.

Thanks everyone for all for your ideas and comments.

I have never had a problem at all with GoDaddy with anything so far. I guess
I've been lucky? I've had horror stories with other web hosts.

I also use Liquid Web for one of my websites because they host my shopping
cart files. I will have to see if they are keeping FPSE. If so, then I'm all
set until I am ready to upgrade to Expression Web.
