always get two windows

I have an Excel file (Office 2003) that always opens in two windows; two
copies of the same worksheet. It does the same thing on different machines.
Other files open normally. How do I turn this behavior off?

Sorry. I looked in the pulldown for what subject and it was this very long,
unsorted list. I don't get it, will try finding the right forum

Just close one of the windows and save the file.
