Am I losing it?? Problems Publishing w/ HTTP

P

Pablo

Ok, I am publishing 2 different sites on the same server. The sites are name
based, all sharing the same IP address. One site was able to publish via
HTTP after some aggravation, yet the second is unable to do so. I have read
the article http://www.publishermvps.com/Default.aspx?tabid=102, and have
followed it to the letter.. so I believe.

On the Server, which does support FPSE, obviously since one site is able to
publish via HTTP, one site doesn't look different from the other.

When I attempt to Publish the site, I get the message "Cannot find the URL
'http://website.com', please check your typing." Now, I'm not the worst
speller on the country and I KNOW the site exists. I have also tried 15
different ways to enter the site such as 'http://www.website.com" and I've
thrown in html's and all kinds of stuff. I can upload each page and picture
individually and make the site work that way, but I have forms on the site
that I need to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

FPSE has to be installed on each account. Don't assume that since it's
installed on one account it's installed on the other. If you'd posted the
URL's in question I'd have checked for you if they are running the extension.
There is no reason to try different upload urls, the article states upfront
that you must have the upload url from your host. Don't make one up or guess.
Ask the host for it. Not all hosts will use the literal domain name as the
upload URL.
It is also possible that FPSE is installed but corrupted.

You need to use article http://www.publishermvps.com/Default.aspx?tabid=158

The sites are atelonline.com and dialriteonline.com. As far I as remember
both sites do have FPSE attributes "ON". Thank you for your help David.

confirmed FPSE.

The one giving you pain could have a corrupt installation of the extensions
or perhaps a server permissions issue. Just work thru my trouble-shooting
article.
