Amoritization

Sam

I am trying to find an amoritization schedule. The
template was not installed. We are a small business and
the Pres. wants me to do Loan Amoritization Schedules,
kindof 'what if' senarios. Everything I find on the net
seems to be either morgage or auto. These are business
loans and I need to be able to calculate for months not
just years. Thanks for any help.

Amortization schedules are easily done on your own. You need four columns:

Opening balance, payment, interest, closing balance.

Opening balance, row 1 = amount of loan
Payment = payment for period, normally calculated using PMT function.
Interest = Opening * IntRate / 12 (or number of periods per year)
Closing balance = Opening - Payment + Interest
Opening balance, row 2 = Closing balance, row 1

Copy down until Closing balance < Payment.
