An annoying typing lag

There is a user in our office that is experiencing an annoying lag while
typing in Word. She'll type a full sentence and it will take a couple of
seconds for Word to catch up to her.

I've also noticed this to a lesser degree on my system. Anyone have any
suggestions on how to fix this?

There are several possibilities--
Key logging & Viruses
Too many applications running, or a network enables and active application

I'd look at task manager and see what is running, then go from there.
It's also possible that the HD needs a defrag.
