An error occurred accessing your Windows Sharepoint services site

I've seen this error message addressed but not in relation to what's
happening to me. I was publishing this morning without any problem, went away
for an hour and ever since, every time I try to save an edited page I get,
"An error occurred accessing your Windows Sharepoint services site file." I
click OK and then it asks me to save. I click cancel and then close the page.
It asks me if I want to save and I say no. What's strange is that the changes
are being made anyway. This is all being done on my hard drive. When I go to
publish to the remote site through FP, I get an error that says the server
timed out. I've gone into the registry, reinstalled FP 2003, rebooted and
done everything I know to do. The host has recalculated and reinstalled FP
extensions on the server but that hasn't helped. Here's something else
strange. I can edit and save and then publish subwebs without any trouble. I
can also go in to the remote site and edit and save but it won't let me
publish back to the local. Thanks for your help.

Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download and run FP Cleaner.
Run the functions that clear the FrontPage Temporary files and the Cache{.web} files.

Then see how it works.
