An Error occurred while exporting the grid data to Excel.

Receiving the above error after upgrading from Project Server 2002 to Project
Server 2003 SP1. It looks like SP1 was to resolve this issue but this error
is being received. Could SP1 be reapplied to resolve this? Any thoughts?

WinPilot:

IME, the SP is not supposed to run if already applied and often that's the
case. With that said, I've seen cases where the version on the media and the
application itself has identified itself as SP1, yet SP1 applies nonetheless
and the problems are resolved. I've mostly seen this with the Project
Client, not Project Server. Bottom line is that I don't think you can do any
damage by trying. Backup your database just the same.

If there is, I'm not aware of it. The error message it should return is
"expected version was not found" or something close to that.

I have gone thru everything that I can find and there is no way to get it to
reapply the SP.

This is just to strange since everything points to the SP not being
installed but it is. There is no other information for this error.

Well, it could be that the error you're seeing is not related to the one
fixed by the service pack, or perhaps you didn't apply the SP correctly, but
I think you'd be seeing more problems than this if the latter were the case.
What is the exact error? What version of Excel are you using? How much data
are you trying to bring down from the server?
