an error occurred while importing this file

Win XP/Word 2000

When using the Save As feature to download a graphic from
google images, the only available types are .art or .bmp

The files are .gif or .jpg and when I save and then try
to insert them into Word I get the error message
"an error occurred while importing this file: path and
filename.

Where do I go now? The knowledge base articles referred
to earlier version of Word.

Thanks so much in advance for any help provided.

This can sometimes happen when your browser cache is full. If you're using
Internet Explorer, go to Tools | Internet Options | General, and click
"Delete Files" under "Temporary Internet Files."
