I open (from Access) some Word docs and I would like that these Wor
docs could only be opened if that specific Access program is opened.

In other words: if someone double click a Word file (and abc.mdb is no
running) then a Message will said something like: "Abc is not running
This file cann't be open.." And file quits Word...

Is there any ideas to make it work or it can't be done?

Regards,

Rua

Hi Jose,

I doubt very much that that is possible.

Oops just thought of something. Maybe you can put a password on the
document and have Access provide the password when it opens the document.

Hi Jose,¸

I am no Access expert, but I am pretty sure you could include code in the
"ThisDocument_Open" module of the target Word documents that would check if
the particular Access file is up and running, if not , warn the user and
close the Word document (you do not need to quit Word if it was already
running... very annoying...)

HTH
Cheers!
