An Invalid Name message appears when adding to our resource pool.

We are using Project Server 2003 and are current with all updates. I'm
trying to add a particular user to our resource pool and when I click the
SAVE icon another window appears, then I scroll down and find the error
message "Invalid Name" next to the persons name I'm trying to add. This
persons name is Terri-Jean Kam-Ogawa. Can you give me some advice quickly?
Mahalo (means thank you in Hawaiian) Randy.

Unfortunately, the PWA system does not like punctuation marks of any kind.
The restriction comes from the OLAP cube. Remove the hyphens and it should
work for you.

I really thought you may have resolved my problem. Anyway I did what you had
suggested, I took out all the hyphens, which made the name look like this;
i.e. Terri Jean Kam Ogawa. Well after saving the "Enterprise Resource Pool"
the message was different it just said it was going to create this user as an
Enterprise User. So I clicked to go ahead. Then when I logged into our
network as this problem user "togawa" then executing our Project 2003
program, I would see the window where if I click "Connect" it normally takes
me into the Microsoft Project program. Well instead it came up with a window
that I was unsuccessful attaching, so I'm going to type the contents of this
window, here it is:
Title: Microsoft Office Project
The Project Server database is unavailable.

You can't access the database for one of the following reasons:
There is a problem with the enterprise global template in the database.
You do not have sufficient permission to access the enterprise global
template.
Network problems are preventing access.
Project Server does not have enterprise features enabled.

Try to connect to the Project Server again. If the problem persists,
cantact your server administrator (which is me).
End of message:

I hope you can give me some direction on this response from the Project
Server.
Mahalo, (means thank you)
Randy

Boy - you are having a time of it, aren't you. When you create a record in
the enterprise resource pool, it will try to create the authentication
permission in project server. Make sure that you have the windows user
account and email address so the security will be set up as a windows
authentication account. You might want to see if you have the rights to
create these - that could be your problem. the other thing that bothers me is
that most people have set up their resource pools to be last name (space)
first name - I hope the lack of alphabetical order isn't a problem for you.
If this doesn't, help - is there anyway you could trim down the name to 2
names instead of 4. I am not sure that is a problem but it couldn't hurt to
try it.

PS - I love your pineapple.

Ellen, in my previous reply I asked "Are we able to attach a file to our
replies? Such as screen prints that I would paste to a PowerPoint slide."

The key statement in your previous reply is "You might want to see if you
have the rights to create these - that could be your problem." Well in our
shop I have anoher person (whose name is Corey) working with me on this
application. He takes care of primarily creating the "Windows Authentication
ID and password for each user requesting access to our EPM Systeml. He
completed creating the Windows Authentication ID and password, the reason I
say this is I'm using this ID which is "togawa" and password to login to our
network using another desktop PC that I have. It logs in fine, so I felt the
"Windows Authentication ID and password is valid." I don't quite understand
what you want me to check. Is there any way for you to call me on the
telephone? If so I will be here for 45 minutes more at (808) 586-3219
otherwise you can reach me on my cell phone at (808) 551-7108. Let me know
if we could communicate by phone or try to straighten up my understanding of
your reply. Thanks....Randy.
