Analyse timescale data in project using excel

A

I have a large Master file, with many resources / project and tasks, when
using the analyse timescale data, it lets me dump overall data into Excel,
but I need to to take over some custom text files and things like Resource
Name. I need to use this data in a pivot table, so I can show how busy my
resources are in Wk 1 jan, Wk 2 Jan etc. ,and which projects they are wokring
on, and how many hours they are going to spend on each.

Any suggesitons welcome.

Ange,
First of all, the "analyze timescaled data in Excel" add-in/utility only
works with timescaled data. Not all fields in Project, including all
spare fields, are timescaled. However, you can still get what you need.
There are basically two approaches you can use.

First, use the add-in/utility for the timescaled part of the data.
Remember that different "cuts" of the timescaled data will be exported
when you start from each of the two usage views. For the static data,
such as custom fields, use an export map. Finally, combine the various
exports in Excel.

The second approach is much more flexible but it does require knowledge
of VBA. Namely, write you own VBA macro (or have someone write it for
you), that exports any data you need from Project to Excel. I do this
all the time and once it is set up the process is a lot easier than
using an array of methods.

Hope this helps.
