Analyze In Excel - Vlookup

I ran a query and exported it to Excel to run a vlookup w/another Excel
spreadsheet. The vlookup failed because the formating of the exported data,
however, if I click in the cell of the exported data, that data is seen by
vlookup.

Can anyone provide an answer as to why this might be and how to resolve this
issue. I tried to reformat the data but that didn't work... click in the
cell then moving out of the cell seemed to fix the data that was exported.
