Animate a shape when clicking another shape

Using PP2000 so I do not have the capabilites of the timing effects of
later versions. I am looking for a little VBA so that when a shape is
clicked, it will animate another shape.

Grime,

Perhaps you could fake this.... so that when you click a shape... it gives
the impression of animating something else... but it really jumps to
- the next slide

or a set of slides using an 'action setting'

That might be easier than using VBA )

That seems more cumbersome for what I am trying to achieve.

If I have 3 shapes that I need to animate, but they will not always be
in the same order. Is there code that when the shape is clicked, it
assigns the appropriate shape to be animated "first in line," then
simulate the mouse click to start the animation?

What you have described would be one approach. Are you looking to really
animate or would hiding and/or showing it be enough (without fancy exit
or entrance effects)? Example 6-6 on my site
(http://www.PowerfulPowerPoint.com) is a simple example that hides and
shows shapes using VBA. Just go to "Examples by Chapter" and click on
"Chapter 6."
