Hi Tammy Lynn,
Word can 'run' animations in only a couple media types by embedding not just the graphic but a link to an outside app that can run
the picture cycle. Basically, .AVI and .SWF (flash) movies can be embedded, but sending them to someone else and the movie may not
run. Word isn't equipped to run the animations in a GIF graphic without outside help.
As Mary points out, if you're viewing a web version (HTML) of a web document, even in email, the GIF animation can run as the
browser that interprets the .HTML file is usually enabled with the tools to run the animation.

How do I make an animated clip (downloaded from MS OFFICE) perform in a word
document. It becomes still when I insert it. <<
