Animated Gif doesn't work

S

Steve McCarthy

Hello,
I've downloaed an animated gif from the web, virus
checked OK, then inserted it onto my Master Page.
The thing just won't play though.
I've activated it, set macro security to Medium, tried
publishing to the web, but it still doesn't play.

Has anyone else had this problem and resolved it?

Thanks
Steve

David,

thanks for the advice.
Are you saying that animated gif's won't work on normal
pages if I still have a master page?

I rather wanted to keep the master page so that I can
keep things like the heading info and navigation control
table in a consistent place on every page.

I appreciate your help on this.

Steve.

Using a master page in a web publication can have unpredictable results in a
number of areas since it's not supported. Based on testing I've done I
recommend it not be used, I found undesirable results could vary from
publish to publish.
The method that should be used is that you insert a new page you use the
copy from page x so that the page elements carry over. For existing pages
you'll have to copy/paste thru them all.

David,

Publisher (2003) doesn't seem to want to let me delete the
master page. The option is greyed out.

Any ideas?

thanks
Steve

Hi David,

I think I must me missing something simple here and I'd
really appreciate a bit more help ...

I deleted all the objects on the master page but the
option to "Ignore Master Page" is still greyed out.

Anyway, I tried putting the animated GIF on the home
page, and it still won't play.

Thanks
Steve
