Animated Gif's, its been over a year!!!!

I looked in this forum for any answer regarding the use of animated
gif's in Entourage.
I'm not really concerned about sending them I can use Apple Mail. But,
i get alot of them from outside sources and if i don't forward them to
apple or yahoo i'd never know they were animated.

I read that Entourage does not read Complex HTML's and a web page
editor is needed. You would think this was an easy addition/patch for
the all powerful Microsoft....But this bug is still here after over a
year....Is it because users have accepted it or there is a fix and I'm
so inept that i couldn't find it....

Is there an easy way to get animated gif's to open in new mail????

I hope that someone responds to this question ! I would love to see and
be able to send some of the emotions and other fun graphics that others
have access to.

Someone posted a script that opened html emails in Safari (or I think
whatever is your browser preference). It works beautifully on some, while
others it doesn't. I can't seem to find it right now, but hopefully someone
will chime in soon.

Not saying this isn't an important feature, but Outlook/Entourage has
never really done well with complex HTML based emails. Yes, a lot of
people consider MS to be the "All to powerful, evil software maker that
does what ever they want" but any company will only write software that
fills a niche to make them money, and I am sorry to say that the Mac
niche doesn't make MS enough to really spend a huge amount of time
making a email client for the Mac that works as well as Outlook for the
PC. I say this being a email admin for a school district that has a
great number of macs and a good amount of PCs, and most of my mac
clients use Outlook in Classic....which sucks. I do like the new
Entourage updates as its getting close to being a usable email client
for us.

Personally I find all those little cute animated emoticons to be the
most annoying things in email ever...well next to the new chain letters
about how if forward the email to 20 people your wish won't come true.
If you really want to see the gif, save it to your local HD and open it
there.

As my direct mail to you shows, animated gifs can be displayed by entourage.

Unfortunately, it takes a special trick to do it - the message must contain
something that triggers the display of the message in the complex HTML
Rendering engine - such as a table.

This depends on what the sender has done, not what your settings are. Not
much you can do about that.
