Animated Icon

Can anyone tell me how to stop the Bouncing Icon. I am conected through
exchange IMAP mail account, and Entourage checks for new mail every
minute ( I can't change this either). Every time it checks it makes the Icon
bounce. I do not have animate icon checked, so I am at a loss.

You can change the frequency of mail checks by changing your schedules in
the Tools:Schedules window. Also, choosing Entourage:Work Offline will
prevent Entourage from trying to connect to the server if you aren't
connected.

There's no way to make Entourage stop bouncing the icon when a connection
failure occurs short of a 3rd party utility like Dock Detox.

I have the schedule set to manual, and I am connected to the server.
Any other ideas would be helpfull.

You can turn off bouncing for New Mail in Entourage/General
Preferences/Notifications/ Animate icon.

Turn that off.

As Dave said, you'll still get the bounce for server errors and other mail
errors. If you're getting a lot of those after turning the Animate pref off,
ask your ISP/organization if they can do anything to prevent such continual
errors. Or do as Dave also mentioned, and try Dock Detox, which you can find
at versiontracker. Didn't you read Dave's post?

I did read Dave's post and do apreciate the help. I did turn off the animate
icon, and I am not getting any error messages. Just an anouing icon. I have
looked and the dock software, and will try it as a last resort. I thought
maybe some one out there would have had this same problem and I could
learn from them.

Sorry for being optomistic.
