animated objects disappear at end of animation

In PP2007, when playing an animation sequence (progressive disclosure of
images and text or graphics), all animated objects disappear from the screen
as soon as the last animated item has appeared. None of the objects in the
sequence are set to "rewind" in the timing options. The problem does not
occur on all slides and I have been unable to detect why this occurs on only
some of the slides. Any clues as to what I'm doing wrong?

Click on Animation tab.
Under Advance slide, check if automatically after is checked. If so, uncheck
it.

I know it's a long time since this posting appeared but I had a similar problem in PP2002 but had to use a different solution. On the 'effect options' drop-down, under the 'effect' tab, I changed 'Don't dim' to the final colour of the object and it now stays put.
