Animating Excel spreadsheet in Powerpoint

I'm working on a presentation where I inserted an excel sheet from the Table
menu, I have entered all of my information and now am trying to figure out
how to animate this type of table.

When I try to animate certain cells it ends up animating the entire table.

Could someone please explain the best way to animate line by line
information on an inserted excel table.

What version are you using? What table menu? Is it an Excel Spreadsheet or a
PowerPoint table? Sorry, but I'm a bit confused by your description.

Actually, not sure why I'm asking as you can't animate tables line by line
(AFAIK). The workaround is to put shapes with background fill over the lines
then give them an exit animation.

I'm working in PP2007

If you click INSERT in the upper left hand corner there is a section that
says Tables...when you click the drop down it gives an option for excel
spreadsheet and thats what I used to input my data.
