Dear Group,
I have a slide that will not accept the animation effects in Power Point
2002. Would anyone care to look at it and tell me why. Thanks.

My email is (e-mail address removed).

Thanks.

Can you explain more about not accepting the effects? If it is not something
confidential, feel free to send me a sample at pptheaven[at]gmail[dot]com.

I tried your suggestion and it did not work. I can send you the file, if you

What exactly is happening, Louis? Please describe what you're trying to do
and what is or isn't happening as a result.

Dear Echo,
I have a slide and cannot add animation effects. I sent it to Shawn above. I
can send it to you if necessary. I am using Power Point 2002 and it was
created in Power Point 2003. Thanks.

Dear Echo,
Thanks for the tip on the book, but at this point I don't feel it necessary
to purchase the book right now. If I have further problems, then it might be
necessary. Thanks so much.

You don't have to purchase my book, it's just an automatic signature file I
use.

As for sending me the file, no thanks -- I'm sure Shawn will figure it out.
It's just that posting a question, not giving much information, and sending
a file to someone doesn't help anyone else who might be experiencing the
same problem. So I hope Shawn will post back with his findings.

Dear Echo,
Thanks for your help. I was not selecting the object. It was very simple but
I was missing the one step.

I opened up the presentation with PowerPoint 2002/XP and it works fine,
including adding animation (For instance: Add Effect > Entrance > Fade). To
add animation, you need to first select the object (textbox in this case),
then click Slide Show > Custom Animation. Click Add Effect and look for the
effect you want.

If it still doesn't work, please tell me does it happen only on this file?
Start a new presentation and try adding animation to a textbox.
