Animations in PPT 2007 vs. Vista - problem?

Normal plain old custom animations (entrances/exits) are super slow most of
the time on my new computer. First time with PPT 2007 and Vista. Is this a
problem with Vista, PPT 2007, or something else?

It appears to be a problem with Vista. We are having a similar issue with a
number of different model computers all running Vista. We have run tests
with both PowerPoint 2003 and 2007 with the same result - jerky animation.
It does not appear to be an issue with PowerPoint 2003 or 2007 because the
same computers running Windows XP display the presentations without any
issue.

In addition to Austin's suggestion, you might try installing a local printer
driver. I know it sounds weird, but it may just fix the problem.

I am not happy with the new Vista and PPT 2007 combo either.

Purchased NEW Dell m1330 laptop last year/ 2 gig of ram / nvidia GeForce
8400M GS.

Tried and tried to make my production department love ppt 2007... but it
just will not playback smoothly. Animations are chunky.. .frames take too
long to resolve.

We have opted to keep PPT 2007 open to use simple design functions... and
cut and paste quickly into PPT 2003.

This is stupid.
