David,

Good article and I really like the new look of the site. Bright colors but
not garish...very fresh. Great job.

thanks for noticing.
I wasn't planning to officially announce the new release of the site until I
had all the bugs tweaked out.
Did you notice the biggest new thing? - you can now search the site.
also articles and other applicable content now has a print button on the
page so you can print a print friendly version.
I hadn't realized how much people would print web page content ( I mean come
on it's online) but a few months ago I went ahead and added a print article
function to barvin.com and the results surprised me. like I recently looked
over it's logs over the first half of March and found that the print was
used about 800 times. that 800 people would print an article blows my mind.
made me realize I should have done that sooner.
so I will assume that new print feature on publishermvps.com will be just as
popular as the search.
and it was time we moved away from the Microsoftie blues ;-)

The search function should be really valuable, especially since some of your
generally helpful articles are listed under the different versions of
Publisher. I suspect that many people with Publisher 2003 don't bother
reading the content under the Pub 2000 section, and yet that content
addresses many of the issues that all users have.

As to print, I am not surprised at your observations. I found that when I
first started using Pub 2000 to build my site, I was so totally ignorant,
that I sometimes had to read your articles over and over before I actually
understood them. I found it helpful to print out the articles, and follow
the directions, or study the article until I Groked it. I have a huge hard
copy file of articles about website development and related topics that I
have printed from your material and others. And I suspect that I will always
prefer reading a hardcopy book or magazine to reading on line...but maybe
that is just my generation.

Anyway, thanks for your efforts here and with your site...we ALL appreciate
it.
