Microsoft announced January 13 that it is reversing its long-standing
decision to charge for POP access to their free Hotmail accounts. What
use to be accessible only to Hotmail Plus subscribers will soon be
available to all Hotmail users.
Phase 1 of Microsoft's roll-out has already enabled POP access in
Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain
and the UK. The United States is slated for Phase 2 of the roll-out in
February.
