[ANN] Updaters for Office 2008 and 2004

Updaters for Office 2008 and Office 2004 were released today. For info and

The Office 2008 update is a combo updater. This update includes all the
improvements that were released in all previous Office 2008 for Mac updates.
Improvements for Entourage 2008 ---Updated time zone information.

The Office 2004 updater requires the 11.5.2 Update to be installed.
Improvements for Entourage 2004 ---Updated time zone information.

---------How to tell if you are updated---------

The Microsoft Component Plugin will always be updated. New to Office 2008--
under "About Entourage" in the Menu bar, the version will be shown. Office
2004 users can check the Microsoft Component Plugin or download the "Find
Version" script to check.

Updaters are available via MSFT AutoUpdater under Help in the Menu bar or
you can download directly from Mactopia.

---------------Tips for a good install-----------------

Log out/in with Shift key down to disable all applications (includes the
hidden ones).

Restart after updating.

Updaters does not include an uninstall feature. To restore your application
to its original state, delete it from your hard disk, reinstall it from your
original installation disk, and then install the updates that you want.

Easy way to revert. Archive (zip) your Office folder prior to updating for
backup.

Updaters for Office 2008 and Office 2004 were released today. For info and

Right after posting, I saw conflicting info on requirements. It looks like
the 12.1.5 updater for Office 2008 requires SP1.

Most users have DVDs of the original release version 12.0.0. MSFT later
included the SP1 version 12.1.0 on the DVD.
