Annoying Pop-up Window in Outlook 2002

I have several users using Outlook 2002 connecting to our Exchange 5.5
server. They often get a pop-up window that states something like "Outlook is
retrieving information from the server <server name>." Is there anyway to
stop this? My users are becoming quite annoyed.
