Annoying "save changes to template" message

I created an MLA template for my papers. Now when I'm working in a paper created on that template, and I click command-s to save what I have written so far, a dialog appears asking me if I want to save the changes to the template. I have found no way to deactivate this dialog, which is really annoying. It is not the "Nomal" template, so the option on the preferences is of no use. Any ideas on how to solve this? Thank you.

Whenever I create a template I start by creating a .doc... and keep
saving that at regular intervals until I'm satisfied that it'Ms what I
want and then I save it as a Template - once .

It sounds like you may be actually opening the template file when you want
to create a new document based on it. To use the template as a template do
not navigate to & open the template file. Use File> Project Gallery - My
Templates [assuming that's where you saved it] in order to have a new
document created. It will be based on your template but editing it will not
cause changes to the template.

If that's not the case it's possible that you have one or more styles in
your template which have been set to Automatically Update and/or Add to
Template - especially if you're adding/changing styles in the new doc.
