Anonymizing "track changes"

Michaelp

Hello!

I am reviewing some articles using the track changes facility, and
wish to prohibit users from seeing my signatur on the changes. How do
I anonymize these?

I have tried to remove my name from the document properties, but this
did not help, my name is still visible on the change tracks.

Are there any workarounds ?

Hello Michael, you need to do this in rtf (if you're using Word 2003
or earlier):
- File, Save as, choose .rtf as "Save as type"
- Open the file in a text editor (Notepad or similar)
- Find the place where your name is stored by searching for {\*\revtbl
- Look up your name down the line and change to something else.
Deleting the name will give "Unknown", I think. Don't change anything
else.
- Save the rtf-file
- Reopen in Word and save as .doc
