Another button question - naming objects

F

Francis Hookham

There is another side to my 'Change button text AND change slides' question.
If it is possible to programme objects (in my case several 'Basic shapes -
bevel' buttons) to run a macro within the slideshow, it will, from XL
experience, be helpful to be able to name the objects rather than use
whatever Autoshape ID they are given, often confusing by the time some have
been deleted and others moved out of sequence.

Please tell me how to name an object for easy macro reference?

Hi Francis,

Just like in Excel, when you are in the Visual Basic Editor you can use
the Object Browser and also help to obtain visual basic code samples.

If you search Help for Name Property while in the VB Editor you will get
the information you requested.

If a particular syntax doesn't work as you might expect then feel free
to post code snippets here and folks will offer assistance.

Sorry, I was out of town last week and didn't get to this. If you are
still here, Francis, you can look at Example 8.7 on my site:

http://www.PowerfulPowerPoint.com/

It will show you how to name objects and slides.
