Another hard question?

Hi Folks,

Where are Visio templates stored? Custom ones we make.

TIA,

The default directory should be "My Visio", at the root level of your
harddrive.

Another possibility is under "My Documents".

Hi Folks,

So unlike Excel which has a pre-defined folder for templates so that they
show up in the templates on my computer, Visio can have the templates
anywhere you designate under Options / Advanced / File Paths...?

I don't find a My Visio on the root of the C drive, nor any obvious location
in Documents.

If my memory serves me correctly in 2002 the location was C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Visio10\1033\Solutions

Have you recently upgraded?
If so, please be aware that in Visio 2002 and earlier, you could get away
with adding your custom templates in the Visio Solutions folder. This is no
longer the case, and if you have custom templates, then they should either
be pt in a specific folder accessible by your users (then amend the Path as
mentioned earlier), or published and installed using the Visio Solution
Publishing Tool (part of the SDK).
