another Hyperlinking question - from footnote?

skellis

I seem to be having trouble hyperlinking from within a footnote. For
example, I might want a "For further information go here" type footnote --
to send the person to another part of the document. Works fine for external
http addresses, but clunks to the top of the document for internal links.
Tried looking at microsoft site for any known issues but nothing about ...
does anyone know about this? Is there a workaround?
Regards again

Hi skellis

In the paragraph that is to be the target of your hyperlink, do Insert >
Bookmark and give it a useful name.

Now, Insert > Hyperlink. In the pane on the left, choose "Place in this
document". You'll now see your bookmark listed in the pane on the right.
Choose it, and click OK.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply.
I actually am familiar with the process of inserting a hyperlink! What
is
strange is that these hyperlinks (placed within a footnote, but
referencing
headings and bookmarks elsewhere in the document) do not actually work
-- I
ctrl-click on them and they send me to the top of the document. If I
put the
same hyperlink in the main body of the document, they work just fine.
In addition, the hyperlinks (in footnotes) work if they are
referencing an external document, or a web address -- it is only if
they are referencing an internal heading or bookmark that I have this
problem.
Any ideas?
