Another inconsistency in the docs

D

David Thielen

In "Office Open XML Part 4 - Markup Language Reference (Tagged).pdf" on page
3902 it shows an example of <wp:anchor behindDoc="false"...> but in a docx
file it uses behindDoc='1' or has nothing.

I assume the correct vlaues are 1 and 0, not true and false. Is this correct?

Also, is there a version of these docs that do not have all these mistakes I
keep finding. My worry is not the numerous errors I find, it's the ones I
don't know are wrong and therefore write bad code based on the incorrect info
in these docs.

Hello Dave,

Many thanks for your pointing it out. In "Office Open XML Part 4 - Markup
Language Reference (Tagged).pdf" on page 3902, the attribute AllowOverlap
(Allow Objects to Overlap) has a value 'true' in the sample. But at the
bottom of its description, the document says: The possible values for this
attribute are defined by the XML Schema boolean datatype. XML Schema
boolean datatype is described in the page:

http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema11-2/#boolean
booleanRep ::= 'true' | 'false' | '1' | '0'

Therefore, the values 'true', 'false', '1', '0' are all valid for the
attribute. I think Office Word 2007 uses '1' and '0' instead of 'true' and
'false' by default.

Please let me know if you have any other concerns, or need anything else.

Sincerely,
Jialiang Ge ([email protected], remove 'online.')
