I have virtually the same problem as others. I thought if I carefully noted
what I did and recanted it here, someone could solve my problem and that of
others.
After numerous crashes occurring everytime I have used the software after
installation, I too have had one crash after another. Yesterday, I did an
uninstall and reinstall for which I selected the "Upgrade" option. When
complete, I then activated Word, Publisher and Excel by clicking on them to
open. Then, when I tried to use OL following the activation of those
programs, OL "reconfigured" itself upon startup and gave me an error message
"OLMAP132.dll". Then, I went to Control Panel>Add/Remove> and ran "Repair".
Still couldn't get OL to open after that w/o crashing, sending message to MS
and then restarting. Then, I did a diagnostics check and found that [1] I
had another uninstall of Outlook and [2] some issues about Adobe [which I
can't understand because I had removed it from prior posts and responses
about this crashing]. By the way, I saved the log. So, I then did a disc
clean and ran my Trend Micro scandisk on "Program files" only. Then, I did
another uninstall and reinstall of OL and selected the "Custom" option and
then checked the box to keep the old software, with the exception of Outlook.
After that installation, I still found that when I clicked on my Contacts or
Tasks after opening OL, I went through the same crash, message to MS and
restart procedure---no matter how many times I did this, I had the same
crash, message, restart. At this point, I have not tried to activate Word,
Publisher and Excel again with the current install.
Now, what really gets me is that this software worked great for a couple of
weeks and then when it started crashing, it has been driving me nuts. Oh, by
the way, when it was working fine, I had no problems with Active Sync [V 4.2]
with my Motorola Q phone. Now, It won't sync at all. I get the message
"Cannot synchronize with the Outlook Profile you are using, because a
differant profile was previously setup or the profile is password protected.
Please open OL using the appropriate profile. Support code 8503001f." To the
best of my knowledge, I have carefully used the same profile all along and I
don't know how to check if its password protected.
I am a proficient user of these Microsoft products, but a not much of a
techie...so, if someone can help, please be patient with my learning the
measures you want me to follow...
