Another Project View Question....

S

Suzanne Slade

Having checked around the posts I can't find an answer so I'll have to post:-

I am trying to create a Project Tracking Progress view in Project Centre, I
would like to achieve when it comes up automatically its rolled up to the sub
tasks, but you can click into the sub tasks to get the detail.

At the moment all I can seem to do is create it the wrong way round so it
shows all the tasks and we can then click and roll them up.

I know it is possible to change this and save the view, however I would like
it to be default if possible.

Cheers

Suzanne --

I'm puzzled by your question. Project Center views show only one line of
information per project. If you want to see the details of the project, you
must click on the hyperlink for the project which then displays a detailed
Project view.

When you create a detailed Project view, you cannot force the view to
display only summary tasks with all subtasks collapsed, and then allow the
person seeing the view to expand those summary tasks. You can, however,
force the initial display of the view to show tasks only at certain outline
level, such as Outline Level 2, with everything below that outline level
collapsed. Once the user displays the view, he/she can expand any of the
collapsed summary tasks to see details for that summary task. To do this,
set the Outline Level value when you create the new detailed Project view.
Hope this helps.
