projects that I don't need.

If I try to close them they trhow an error meesage taht sasy sthe file is
referenced by another file and cannot be closed.

What is thes trying to tell me?

I have no subprojects and these fils are unrelated as far asI know.

Try opening the file and going to Tools > Links Between Projects and killing
any links you may find there.

Also note you should probably post queries like this in the Microsoft Project
group, and not the Developer group. You'll probably get better answers.

Tools/Links shows no project links.

This started after I copied some VBA code from one file to another. However,
there is nothing in the code that revferences or calls any other file. I
posted here because I beleive it has something to do with the VBA code I
copied, rather thqan anything or data in the Project File itself.

Indeed, it does have something to do with VBA. I have exactly the same
problem. If I have the VBA editor open, I cannot close the 'referenced' mpp.
As soon as I close the editor I can close the mpp. It only happens with
this one mpp, with others I don't have this problem. I don't know what I did
to cause this.
