ANOTHER spreadsheet bug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A

Alvin Bruney

When i highlight a value in the spreadsheet and delete it, the spread sheet
throws a very nasty error.

I thought this was fixed in the recent service packs. The office update
sites informs me that all my updates are current.
Clues?????

I don't get an error when I do this.

More information about the specific configuration and any
code on the page such as event handling would be helpful
in determining what may or may not be the problem.

Thx
Dan

When you say programmatic - do you just mean something like
calc.Range("a1").value = "12121" or more like data access via ADO or
something?

Im curious what causes this crash and it'd be cool if you can tell me
how you hit this bug.

This is annoying to my users.

I load the spreadsheet like so
document.RateManForm.sp.XMLData = xml stuff correctly formatted.

it's only after this point, when i try to delete it blows up. If i load the
app and the spreadsheet is empty then i manually enter some data and try to
delete, it behaves correctly.

What else/other info do you need? I suppose you are MS right? I can give you
a link to the page off line so you can see it's behavior if you so desire. I
can also give you the source code to look at. Email me at
(e-mail address removed) for a link

Dan,
thanks for your help on this. It's now documented and slated for a SP fix.
